One of the greatest Georgian poets of all times, Galaktion Tabidze
was born in Tchkvishi-village (Imereti,West Georgia).
He graduated from Tbilisi Theological Seminary and
since 1912 lived in Kutaisi.
His almanacs "Poems" (1914) and
"Artistic Flavers" (1919) made him the name
of king of Poets. His verses "Meri" ("Mary")
, "Night and Me", "The Moon
Over Mtastminda", "Blue
Horses" and many others could be included in
any anthology of the world greatest poems. His poetry
is still considered to be an insurmam-table peak of
the Georgian literature.
